Guidelines for Publication
Because the Scripture instructs us that teachers were given to the church for edifying or building up the body of Christ, Diakonia Publishing is interested in publishing only material that represents the true gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Understanding the truth that many have sought to pervert the gospel, we have strict guidelines as to material we will consider for publication. Books published by Diakonia must not be contrary to the following basic criteria. All material considered for publication will be carefully reviewed in its entirety.
~ God must be portrayed as He is revealed through the Lord Jesus Christ. [Hebrews 1:3]
~ Salvation and reconciliation with God is accomplished only by grace through faith, and the accompanying new birth. [John 3:3, Ephesians 2:8]
~Any teaching on the wrath and judgment of God must be presented in a manner consistent with what Scripture reveals about mercy and faith in the New Testament according to Matthew 23:23, Romans 1:16, Romans 2:4, Romans 5:2, Romans 8:1, 2 Corinthians 5:19
~ Any teaching or material involving Christian life must, as its foundation, recognize and keep what the Scripture teaches about the new creature in Christ. [John 9:39-41, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Romans 6, Romans 7:22, Romans 8, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Colossians 2:10, Galatians 3:13]
~ God is not the author of (or responsible for) tragedy, sickness, poverty, destruction, persecution, temptation, or emotional distress as much as He is not the author of sin. [Matthew 7:7-11, John 10:10, James 1:13-18; 2 Corinthians 1:20]
~ God will never withdraw Himself, His Spirit, His grace, His calling, His power, or His love from any person who is in Christ--regardless of the Christian's behavior or lifestyle. [Matthew 28:20, John 14:16, Titus 2:11, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:4, Romans 11:29, Ephesians 2:8, Hebrews 13:5, Jeremiah 31:3]
~ All fictional stories must have the gospel as its core theme--to point the reader to the Lord Jesus Christ. This includes children's picture books.
