Who was Nimrod? The Bible barely mentions his name, but ancient historians recorded substantial information about him. People of today’s world are largely unaware of a lesser-known story concerning Nimrod, written by the blood of many believers at a time following God’s destruction of the Old World. How could such a man be of such importance to today’s believer?

In this historical novel, Dr. Steven Merrill unleashes years of extensive research concerning the enigmatic character of Nimrod and the devastating effects he had on mankind.

Eight people had traveled God’s floodwaters of judgment in the security of His ark, but the curse of sin still tainted their souls. After the flood, the prince of darkness wasted no time sowing seeds of rebellion in fertile hearts. Nimrod was born into this New World and was handpicked by Satan to transform it into a cauldron of rebellion.

Along with his wife Semiramis, the mighty warrior Nimrod established what is known today as ancient mythology, a religion that worshipped Satan, born from seeds of bitterness directed toward God and His followers. Coercing those who were unwilling to accept this religion, Nimrod spread this wickedness throughout the New World as they saw men and women as gods, embracing all that was evil in the sight of God, including child sacrifice, prostitution, divination, idol worship, and the ultimate abomination: the Tower of Babel.

There are many similarities between Nimrod’s time and this present age. Western civilization presently demonstrates the wickedness and moral corruption in equal or perhaps in greater terms than in ancient times. The events happening currently in Iraq and the Middle East are not coincidental. Several cities conquered by Nimrod are still in existence today—in modern-day Iraq. Consequently, the story of Nimrod is of prophetic importance because the Bible teaches that one day a man like Nimrod, motivated by Satan, will appear on the world’s stage, opposing God and bitterly persecuting His followers.

Supported by the Bible and historical records, Christian physician and author Steven Merrill illustrates in this revealing novel the people and events (in a fictional context) that eventually gave birth to the rise of polytheism, and the prophetic role it plays in today’s world.
